In 2009, Bernard Schwartz founded the Bernard Schwartz Center in Journalism, Education and Public Policy, led by Professor William F. Baker. The Center is devoted primarily to studying America’s embattled newsgathering traditions and investigating solutions for their survival. In addition, the Schwartz Center will research and promote the potential role of public broadcasting in preserving the professional gathering and reporting of news.
